Reflections: Visit to Various Religious Places
On 1 July 2012, 210 IRCC leaders from Canberra IRCC visited the Sri Krishnan Temple, Sultan Mosque, St. Andrew’s Cathedral and Buddha Tooth Relic temple. Through these guided tours, it immerses participants in an engaging experience and a journey to explore, discuss and clarify the key tenets of faith and ethnicity in Singapore
Participants have given feedback that the visits organised were enriching and informative as through the presentations conducted by the respective representatives of the heritage centres or temples, it cleared most of their misconceptions of what each individual potrayed other races/religion as based either on their physical looks/ cultural or religion practices / behaviour, which might in turn led to misunderstanding between the races.
IRCC members from Bukit Batok IRCC and Bukit Timah IRCC visited the Baha’i Centre and Sikh Temple on 14 July. Similarly favourable feedback was obtained from these participants. Since the start of the year, a total of (total number of 232 IRCC members attended) IRCC members have gone through this programme.
