Dialogue with Kranji Secondary School Students
OnePeople.sg was invited by Kranji Secondary to speak on twin topics Racial Discrimination and Cyber Bullying to 289 Secondary 3 students. Dr Mathew Mathews shared on stereotypes, prejudice and respecting one another. Dr Mathews also gave the students some practical tools on what to do in the event they witness racial discrimination.
The second speaker from our partner, the Singapore Kindness Movement touched on ‘Kindness – The Key to Cyber-Wellness”. As youths, the social media is one of the great communication platforms and where information can be shared with comments and opinions expressed. Words can be both kind and unkind. This was highlighted and the students were also given three rules to abide by to have a healthy online interaction.
