Cultural Journey: The Indians

The Cultural Journey is a half-day community trail organised by

Participants will be led on a guided tour of The Indian Heritage Centre (IHC) where the historical origins, royal heirlooms and cultural memorabilia of the Indian community will be showcased.

The majority of Indians in Singapore are Hindus and to understand this aspect of the community, participants will proceed to Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple to learn about the key tenets of Hinduism and its obligatory practices.

What better way to end the session than by tucking into a sumptuous lunch of Indian dishes?

  • To have a holistic understanding of the Indian community.  This will encompass cultural, religious and culinary aspects.
  • An appreciation of the significance of the Little India district as a focal point for the Indian community.
  • To heighten cultural sensitivity by enhancing awareness of the cultural perspectives of the Indian community.
