An annual event organised by OnePeople.sg, Campteen 2012 drew more than 200 multi-racial youths from 26 different local and international schools and madrasahs who came together to express their views on the multi-racial society in Singapore through the creation of an artwork; a giant paper heart entitled “Heart of Diversity”. Mr Zainudin Nordin, Chairman, OnePeople.sg was invited to grace the event and did the unveiling of this artwork. The Finale also showcased the highlights of the youth’s experiences from the 4D3N camp, as well as their reflections on this learning journey. Chairman OnePeople.sg also presented certificates to the participants of Campteen, marking the commissioning of over 200 multi-racial youths as OnePeople.sg’s “Youth Racial Harmony Ambassadors”. The Finale was completed with presentation of youth advocacy projects to promote racial harmony, integration and making a stand against racism online.
I didn’t think or care about the immigrants but after attending this event, I learned about interesting culture and histories of the immigrants.
