The two half-day football exchange kicked off at the new campus of ACS Junior along Winstedt Road. It commenced the school holidays in June for our players in a vivacious manner.

Approximately 30 players between 6 to 12 years old from both ACS (Junior) and Team OPSG spent their afternoons getting to know one another and learning to play together as a team with their new friends from different races and faiths.

Excitement filled the room as players were briefed and separated into different teams according to their age groups. The combined training session on the first day consisted of skills and games stations. The skills-based stations allowed players to hone their skills on specific moves such as heading, shooting and ball control. The games stations allowed the players to mingle and have fun, in addition to working on their reflexes.

The following day began with a talk on basic information on nutrition and hygiene that benefitted our active and sporty young players. We were honoured to have the former national football player Mr Terry Pathmanathan to conduct a football clinic for our young players. Mr Terry shared his inspiring experiences and insight on the technical football skills with the players. His sharing equipped the players with fresh perspectives on how a player could be more efficient on the field.

The training ended with friendly games, with the players brimming with much zeal and zest. Back at the debrief room, the players received certificates for their participation and bid one another a fond farewell. This is a rare and wonderful experience for Team OPSG players and we greatly appreciate ACS Junior's initiation and co-organisation of this football exchange.

We are definitely embracing more of such memorable football exchange on 19 June 2010 with Global Football Academy (GFA) Japan at Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Secondary School along Bishan Street 13. Check out our website for more exciting stories on Team OPSG.
