Cherishing the Spirit of Hospitality with the Catholic Centre
Hear about Singapore’s early years first-hand from parishioners like Mr. Vincent Gabriel, Mdm Brenda Tan and Mdm Christina Ying. Built in 1847, the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd is the oldest Roman Catholic Church in Singapore and is a gazetted National Monument since 1973. It is also the Cathedral Church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Singapore and the seat of its Archbishop, Most Rev. William Goh DD. The church owes its name to Saint Laurent-Marie-Joseph Imbert, a French missionary who worked in Asia and whose relics are housed in this very church.
