Crisis Communication

This course will allow IRCC members to be equipped with the knowledge and practical skills in handling crisis situations that can lead to racial and religious conflicts through the three-step method of analyzing and planning the before-during and-after crisis events.

Workshop Objectives

  • To provide participants with the practical skills and personal confidence to prepare for, identify and respond appropriately to a crisis in Singapore’s racial/ religious relations.
  • To prepare participants to handle any type of interview associated with such a crisis comfortably and professionally, to craft and deliver key messages convincingly and to avoid controversy.

    • Case studies of racial and religious relations crisis in Singapore.

    • Preparing key messages in anticipation of a crisis in racial/religious relations.
    • Preparing your team for a racial/religious crisis.
  • Crisis Response
    • Tips on managing the agenda during a crisis situation
  • Crisis Recovery
    • Guidelines on how to apply key learnings from a crisis to help avoid any recurrence
  • Social Media Crisis
    • Case studies of social media incidents involving inter-racial/religion relations in Singapore
  • Practical Workshop
    • Using practical sessions and a customised crisis scenario role-playing to reinforce the learning points and develop confidence in crisis management within workshop participants
